Included in the kit:

What you’ll need yourself:
- A protective surface
- Scissors
- An iron
Step-by-step: leather bag making
Step 1 – Reinforce the leather
Cut the adhesive cotton to size and iron it onto the faux leather pieces. This will make your bag sturdier. Be careful not to use too much heat, as it may damage the material.
Step 2 – Start with the sides
Secure one side of the bag using clips to keep everything neatly in place.
Step 3 – Stitch the bag
Choose your preferred colour of wax thread and cut approximately 1.5 to 2 metres. Thread your needle and begin stitching.
- Start with a knot to secure the thread
- Stitch through the pre-punched holes
- Don’t skip any holes
- Move the clips along as needed
Step 4 – Create a clean finish
Once you reach the end of the seam, stitch back slightly for a neat finish and secure with a knot.
Repeat this step for both sides of the bag.

Step 5 – Attach the D-rings
Take the small leather pieces and thread them through the D-rings. Fold them over and secure them to the sides of the bag with clips.
Stitch them firmly into place from the inside.
Step 6 – Add the closure
Take the two parts of the snap button. Insert the screw part from the inside of the bag through the hole and fasten the other side.
Step 7 – Make the strap
Use the faux suede cord of 5 metres to create your strap.
You can:
- Braid 3 strands for a shoulder strap
- Or knot multiple strands for a unique design
Attach the strap to the D-rings.
Step 8 – Finish your bag
Place the bottom insert inside the bag for added structure. You can glue it in place if desired.
Got leftover cord? Use it as decoration to personalise your bag.
